CPCAB - Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People (CYP-L5) (Pending Approval)
About this course...
This qualification is designed to give you the knowledge, skills and competances to work as counsellor with children and young people aged 11-18.
Pre-course requirements
You must have obtained CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling or its equivalent with another Qualification Board
Qualification Structure
There are 7 mandatory units that you will be working from:
1. Work safely, legally and ethically with children and young people (CYP)
2. Facilitate a therapeutic relationship with CYP
3. Understand and work with diversity in relation to CYP
4. Work collaboratively, creatively and flexibly to engage CYP in counselling work
5. Work with self-awareness as a CYP counsellor
6. Use theory, research and skills to work effectively with CYP
7. Monitor and maintain professional practice and effectiveness as a CYP counsellor
CPCAB CYP-L5 specifically aligns with the BACP and NCPS competence frameworks for working with young people
Completion and progression
CPCAB Level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision (TCSUL6) plus a recommended minimum 450 supervised practice -hours.
Credit transfer to university study such as Open University.
Fees
Fees: TBC. This includes CPCAB registration . You reserve your place by way of deposit. Once the course has started you can then pay the remaining fees in full, or over 3 terms or 6 months.
